Allow auto-renewing subscriptions for Europe
European tax law has changed, adding a lot of additional paperwork for us to continue selling into Europe (outside of the United Kingdom) from our website.
It is still possible to purchase single-year Bird Journal Premium subscriptions from our apps via the Apple AppStore or Google Play.
Please vote for this item if you would like us to resume selling auto-renewing subscriptions or gift certificates, Europe-wide, from our website.

Allow to share an entry with someone via Bird Journal
Can select Bird Journal users to share with, or just enter email addresses, allowing recipients to view shared entries with a free Bird Journal account.
Useful if you've gone birding in a group - only one person needs to keep a record of observations.

please put back the running total of species observations on the day list, so that I can see just how good a day I'm having.
In previous versions on the iphone when inputting sightings it was possible to scroll down to the # icon at the bottom of the alphabet list and see the running total for the day. I would like to see this feature reinstated so that I can keep track of how I'm doing species-wise on a day out. On the latest version I have to save the list to see a total (which means having to reset the location filter list to start again).

Lists
Being a person who keeps lists a facility to create a list of seen wildlife be it Geographic, circumstances. This would include Country, County Local Patch etc. I actually note wildlife I see from aircraft [sad I know] so I miss this facitlity.

Allow to export the checklist report
Export is not possible for this report at the moment, unlike other reports. The reason is there is too much formatting to output as the typical CSV file.
If you'd like to see this, please specify whether you would like the export as CSV without formatting of any kind or as an XLS file with formatting.
Of course, please consider we may be able to add the flexibility needed to the report so you don't need to export it and modify it manually. We'd prefer that, as everyone will benefit from the easy customization.

Allow 'in the field changes to species' Position/Time on iPhone/Android
Having just returned from Brazil I had several occasions where I inadvertently added the wrong bird species in using live position/time. Later in the day(s) I was informed of the errors, and whilst I could add in the correct species for that day I could not remove the other 'incorrect' species in the field as I would loose the time/position it was seen to add to the correct species with the same position/time. It would be REALLY helpful to have the ability to 'modify in the field' the species you initially entered and replace it correctly without having to add…

Export entry data to Excel in correct taxonomic order
Currently data is exported to excel in the order it was recorded. It would be much more useful for the order to be exported in the taxonomic order of the species.

Get mobile app to default to the nearest location when creating a new list
I've removed my votes from the "Remember the last used Locations" to this one as I think this is a better idea: When creating a new sightings list, it should to as the title says and default to the nearest location specified in the geotag. Of course, this could be overwritten by the user if required, but would save scrolling through a long list of locations (I have c.800).
This isn't important on the desktop version as typing in the first few characters will quickly give the location required.

would it be possible, to allow common names to be listed, with second name first
Would it be possible, to allow common names to be optionally listed, with second name first, ie avocet, babbler, barbet, duck, eagle etc, to allow easy tracking of species in your lists?

Allow simple checklist recording
I only want to mark species as seen for my year/life list. I'm not interested in recording individual observations with dates and locations.

Add the ability to create a location directly from the entries screen
On v3 desktop version there was an option to create a location as part of making a new sighting entry - rather than having to go specifically to the locations menu. Not present in v4, either desktop or android app, would be nice if it could be!

Reintroduce keyboard shortcuts
In the desktop application, Reintroduce keyboard shortcuts that allow you to jump to a specific property in an observation record, eg, Heard only, which at present require a mouse-click

Could Entries dates be displayed in a collapsible accordion format?
In v5 the Entries view dates list is much more cluttered and awkward to scroll through than v4 (where you could collapse years, months - which was very helpful). Is it possible to have a collapsing menu of dates when in Entries view? A Collapsible Accordion format would work very well - see example at http://cssmenumaker.com/menu/modern-accordion-menu. Picture Year level, then Year-Month within years, then individual entries by date with the great icon for photos included.

Creating and exporting trip reports
I would appreciate being able to create an entry or series of entries in a trip report format that could be exported in a choice of word or pdf document. This would enable me to share the trip report with others which may also help more birders to see how useful Bird Journal is.

Oceans of World added as Parent Location
As a cruiser I have records of many seabird species from Antarctica to Arctic. Having Ocean as Parent it would be easier to place eg Bering Sea in Pacific.
