Create a link between Apple voice memos and Bird Journal
It would be great to record your records by voice rather than having to have your head down tapping away on your phone. A simple voice message which creates the record using all the current geo tagging as the message is recorded and then transposing it into the BJ entry for that record. It would mean that I can simply log an entry without having to tap in each element.

Make porting of records from one taxonomy to an updated one easier.
Just porting my records over from my original Mammals of the UK taxonomy to the new Mammals of the United Kingdom and Ireland checklist from the World Mammals taxonomy and have spotted something that might be a useful change to implement.
On the replace species tool, there are radio buttons to select common or scientific.
It would be useful to have these stay as a previous selection, so they don't have to be re-selected each time (a total of 6 key-strokes if you want to use scientific names for both sides of the swap).

Allow searching/filtering of observations within an individual entry.
Sometimes you may need to edit an entry and find a specific species to make an amendment. Perhaps if you've noticed you entered the count incorrectly or selected the wrong sub species etc for example. If there are a number of species in the entry it can be quite tedious to scroll through them all to find the one you need to amend.
A search bar above the observations panel would make it great just to type a few letters and find the entry you need in much the same way filtering works on the main pages.
Cheers

Enable a filter that enable the user to create a list of the birds not seen. A target list to help find in year and life targets.
It’s really annoying towards the end of the year trying to hit an annual target. This year I wanted to break 200 birds (in my case seen by bike or walking from home). For the last month of the year it would have been really helpful to create a tick list of target birds. Sure this would help others !

Species count summaries
On Windows version summarise the number of observations and give a total count for multiple observations of a species in one entry. Could be indented or highlighted on a line either above or at end of that species series of entries. This would bring the Windows version in line with what already occurs in Android and would help in survey work.

Change the pin colour
Any chance of giving us the option of changing the individual pin colours please? Currently the blue pins don’t show up very well against either the outdoors or satellite maps. Red would be better! Thanks

Have icons for wildlife categories for ease of use to move between.
When I’m using Birdjournal on my patches I record, along with birds, butterflies, bee’s, dragonflies etc. It would be easier to have at least an icon to go to your prefer home category. If you could have a couple other icons that we make life easier and quicker to move between categories.

Please create a button to allow you to tick Complete List while using the iPhone app. I currently have to log onto the computer to then go back through lists to tick this feature! Thank you

Filterable Maps for iOS and Android
Add filterable maps to the mobile apps, like those found on the Windows desktop version of Bird Journal, so you can easily visualise where you've been birding, where you've seen certain species or taken photos.

Entry screen bird list as a grid (preferrably using 4 or 6 letter codes)
When listing I always use the ABA 4-letter species codes. It would be awesome to be able to view birds in a grid based on the codes. So the screen would look something like this:
ABTO ACFL ACWO AKOH ALFL
ALTE ALHU ALOR AMAV AMBI
AMBD AMCO AMCR AMDI AMFL
AMGP AMGO AMOY AMPI AMRE
etc. This would allow you to see way more species on a single screen and would make selecting species by scrolling faster and easier. Anyway, have a grid option combined with adding the ability to view synonym packs (making codes available) in the mobile app…

Allow Public Browsing
I manage the observations for a local wildlife group / tour operator.
I would like to have a page people can visit to view and search through recent and historical observations.

Allow easy import from Nature Lister
Nature Lister is an Android app, partnering to Wildlife Recorder.
The Nature Lister format is different to the Wildlife Recorder format, so needs to be handled separately.

Fine-tune scrolling when using a wheel-mouse
In BJ5 beta, scrolling using the mouse wheel currently does not work ideally, in that a single nudge of the wheel scrolls the content too much. In the date picker, for example, if I have all of August 2015 displayed then I scroll down one click/nudge so I can make an entry for the first week of September, it scrolls too far and I can only see Sept 13-Oct 24. I have to use arrow keys to scroll back up to the first 2 weeks of September. Similarly, in when there's a scrolling list such as a checklist, scrolling the…
