Is it possible to have a Florida specific or USA list rather than using the whole world list?

Re-postition species name within an entry
When you select entries and then on a specific entry, consider having the species name at the top (rather than it saying 'Entry' above where that date etc is located. You can view the species name more easily and also with the species name at the bottom currently, the text is too cramped and is overexposed on top of species count and Good view etc.

Revert to v4 photo thumbnails displayed by month
In v5 you can only see a narrow strip of photo thumbnails on LH side. In previous versions, it was possible to see all the photos for a relevant month at once and the ability to scroll through many rows of thumbnails at a time. Thus; you can see at a glance the quality birds you saw (or not) that month: or, just scroll through the years and reminisce ..

Show species counts on entry summary screen for non-bird species
As well as birds, I also record butterflies, moths and mammals in the journal. For entries containing no bird species the words '0 bird species' give no indication of what is recorded within the entry. Could it be modified to show what has actually been recorded? - eg. 3 bird, 2 butterfly, 1 mammal species? Or 0 bird, 8 butterfly species?

Under the species list tab, the ability to add photos to a particular species without having to create a new entry.

Better Location Support
One of the things that seems strange to me about Bird Journal is that notating locations seems incredibly tedious, perhaps I'm missing something, but when you add a new entry and you want to put a location, it would be great if this field synced with Google Maps and found the location as you typed it in. Instead I actually have to manually add each location I go to in a completely separate area first? This seems like an incredibly archaic interface.

Group entry - this is a modification on the shared entry but it works as a top down rather than bottom up. A push rather than pull.
A modification of shared entry but in a push fashion. All the members of a group that want to participate share their email addressed with the leader. As the data is entered it becomes available to those who shared their information for them to choose to pull it down. It is a one-off and potentially more secure and a good selling point should tour companies go this way.

Date picker looks backwards (not forwards)
On the date picker, when you click on the date, it brings up a screen that has 3 1/2 years of months making it easier to select a date but the dates start on the current year and go forwards 3 1/2 years.
I can't imagine there would be any requirement to add sightings in the future. At the moment I have to scroll backwards with my mouse wheel which is only a small problem but it would speed the input up, and makes sense, to have the current year and the previous 3 1/2 years to pick from (rather…

Make no. of individuals an easy edit to a saved entry on the mobile app.
To save time in the field I usually put 'observed', adding no. of individuals by editing the entry on the Mac later at home. If I could access just my entry species list on the app I'd be able to do this at the conclusion of each survey.

Individual species graph
At the moment it is possible to compare members of a family ie:- Thrushes.
It would be nice if I could compare sightings of one species ie:- Blackbird from one month to another for the same site.4 votes -
Provide a way to enter time other than military time with the option to selection AM/PM
It would nice to have the option of selecting regular time vs. military time and a check box for AM/PM.

Customisable Toggle switches?
Wouldn't mind the option to set Toggle switches differently, for instance so that 'Good View' defaulted to Yes rather than No.

Way to view first observation for each year for a species
Whether in the Firsts report, or within the Species section, it would be very nice to see "first observed" date for all years observed to be able to see trends, compare to years with similar weather patterns, etc.

Could Entries dates be displayed in a collapsible accordion format?
In v5 the Entries view dates list is much more cluttered and awkward to scroll through than v4 (where you could collapse years, months - which was very helpful). Is it possible to have a collapsing menu of dates when in Entries view? A Collapsible Accordion format would work very well - see example at http://cssmenumaker.com/menu/modern-accordion-menu. Picture Year level, then Year-Month within years, then individual entries by date with the great icon for photos included.

Given that many birders travel extensively and, when doing so record most mammal species that the see, could a World mammals list be included in the library?

Survey Categories
At some point in the future it would be good if you could choose a Survey Category, so you could link Observation and Entry properties to only those categories.
For instance. If you are observatory and you are inputting ringing records, you could have properties like: Ring number, fat, wing length, age, weight...etc, but only have them show in the entry window when you choose the Survey Category: ‘Ringing’? And the same could be done for Moth Trapping, Butterfly Transects and others.
Those categories could also be used for entry searches.
