Sync to eBird & BirdTrack
Bird Journal's import/export from/to eBird & BirdTrack are pretty good.
It's not possible to do this from the mobile apps though.
What would be better is if you could "link" your account to your eBird & BirdTrack accounts, and Bird Journal would take care of "syncing" your records to those systems automatically, and prompting you to review something when needed.
This is something we’re considering. For technical reasons we’d need to hold a copy of your eBird/BirdTrack password to make this possible.
Is that something you’d be comfortable with?
It’s obviously not ideal, but we’d make sure everything is fully secure.

Correct, this feature is to make upload to eBird/BirdTrack essentially automatic once setup.
Good point Mark. I'd originally imagined it would sync everything. Do you think this would be an issue?
I'm sure country recorders would have the ability to filter records somewhat.
We could allow to mark entries as not to be synced, but I feel this might start to get complicated. I'd originally imagined allowing e.g. sensitive records to be flagged not for sharing.

Yes. This would be a sync and not an export/import? Would it be ‘all or nothing’? (ie could one select which records to sync as county recorders may not be interested in some records of blue tit (say))

Hi Justin
An “auto sync” feature to BirdTrack would be a great feature. County recorders are now asking for records to be uploaded to BirdTrack and so some sort of more automated process [through the app as well as the webapp] would help Bird Journal users keep ‘official’ records up to date. -

Is this not a feature already?
