Mac version
Make a native mac version of Bird Journal
I’m pleased to report that Bird Journal 5 is now live, with a refined user experience, Mac support and some great new features:
https://www.birdjournal.com/version-five-desktop-app
If you’re currently using Bird Journal Free, a complementary 14-days premium subscription has been activated since license restrictions are now in place.
Many, many thanks for all of your help during the beta. We hope you’re as pleased with the end result as we are. It’s certainly been the most open, collaborative development process for us so far, with the initial beta being available very early on.
And a special thank you to all Mac users for your patience while we made this happen.
Making the web version of Bird Journal available is one of our next priorities.
Best wishes,
Justin

Hello Justin
Very pleased you now have an Apple version as I have bought an iMac after the problems with windows 10.
Seems to work fine.

If you read this message, please comment with the version of OS X you are running on your mac. Eg. I'm running Yosemite

We're busy building it at the moment - it's going well. A public preview, with a subset of the features, should be available in a month or so. I'll post an update and screenshot or two on the blog soon.

So - still no news on the all platform version then?

Have BJ 2.5 installed on laptop and use free version on iPad. Also have 27 iMac so won't subscribe until native mac is available. Hoping this is soon as BJ is missing a trick in the current market and not gaining the client base it deserves.

Sounds GREAT! I've been testing BirdJournal and I'am very impressed and satisfied. But I have a Mac. So if you can launch a Mac version, I'm buying it!

A great step in the right direction. It should have been like that from the start.
Your only sticking point is your subscription. Make it an out right purchase and am happy to pay a decent price and pay for reasonable upgrades that feel they are worthwhile for me. I don't like subscriptions.

Looking forward to this development so I can buy a Mac and use it for everything so justifying the extra cost.

Agree with the previous comments - a Mac version is essential before I could commit to Bird Journal. I am a long-term user of Wildlife Recorder with 20 years of national and international data and I must be confident that all of that could be imported to BJ. I am not prepared to run 2 systems and neither am I prepared to install VM Ware and Windows just to run BJ.
Please proceed with the Mac version ASAP.
