Saving species entry on mobile version
It is much easier to select species from a list filtered by birds previously seen in the specific location. Unfortunately when the species added are saved, that filter is is lost when you want to add more species to the sighting, meaning you either have to filter every time you edit, or not save until you are finished adding (which could be a few hours in a location).
Two suggestions to get around this:
1. Keep the filters on after saving. This would probably need a change to the saved entry.
or
- On the species entry screen, when save is pressed, keep the screen open, but change the "Save" button to "Close", which will close the screen. This will allow species to be saved as you go without having to repeat filter settings or close and reopen the entry at present. To save and close at the same time, simply press twice.
I prefer option 2.

Yes, it's often not discovered, as well.. we'd rather the app just didn't crash!
Indeed, the filtering suggestion is still relevant and shouldn't be too hard

Hi Justin,
The save on change feature is a welcome improvement and it does rather render option 2 irrelevant. I hadn't realised you had done it. Thanks for that! Saving the filter setting is still useful, though.

Hi Mike,
Actually changes are saved each time you add a species, such that if your phone crashed or ran out of power, you are given the option to resume editing. So it might be the easiest to just leave it in edit mode.
We're considering allowing the filter setting to be remembered also though, so that whenever you visit a site where that filtered location is still relevant (eg. Maybe you filtered to the county level), it will be applied automatically. The filter will only not be set if you create/edit an entry where the filtered location it's relevant.
Would this help?
