My virus checker is blocking Bird Journal. How do I fix it?

Every so often a virus checker flags the Windows app by mistake — a false positive, historically reported as TR/Dropper.Gen — and refuses to let it start.

If you are otherwise confident the computer is clean, adding an exclusion for Bird Journal puts it right. How you do that depends on which security software you use; Avira’s instructions are a good example of the shape of it, and the others are similar.

If yours is not covered and you cannot find the setting, tell us which one you use and we will help you find it. Reporting the false positive to your security software’s own vendor is worth doing too — that is what gets it corrected for everybody else.
