How do I import from Bird Journal 1, 2 or 3?
Records from the older Windows versions come across when you first create your account — which is why it matters where you create it.
Updated
There is nothing to import by hand. Records from Bird Journal 1, 2 and 3 are brought across automatically when your account is first created.
That is why it matters where you create it. The import reads the old journal file on the computer it is running on, so the account has to be created on the Windows computer holding your main records. Create it somewhere else and the account is made without them.
If you have already created it on the wrong device
This is fixable, and it happens often enough that we have a set of steps ready. We reset the account so you can create it again in the right place, without losing anything.
Email mail@birdjournal.com and tell us:
- Which devices and computers you are using Bird Journal on.
- Which one you created your account on.
- Whether the records on your Windows computer are up to date, if you were also using one of our older mobile apps.
That is enough for us to give you the right instructions rather than the general ones.
