Delete an observation

How to remove a single species from an entry, on a phone or tablet and on a computer.

Updated

This is about removing one species from an entry, rather than the whole entry.

On a phone or tablet

  1. Open the entry and start editing it.
  2. Tap the observation you want gone. Tap the row itself — the + beside it adds another observation of that species rather than opening the one already there.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete.
  4. Confirm.

The same Delete appears on an observation you have only just added, which is the quickest way to take back a mis-tap.

On a computer

  1. Open the entry and press Edit Entry.
  2. Select the observation in the list.
  3. Press Delete beneath the list.

Removing the whole entry

To remove the visit itself rather than one bird from it, open the entry and press Delete Entry. Bird Journal asks you to confirm, since that takes every observation in the entry with it.
