Indicate when library updates are available in the mobile apps
The Bird Journal desktop apps indicate when library updates are available by showing a colourful number badge next to the library button, and then again on the updates tab.
The mobile apps do not currently indicate when library updates are available, meaning they could be missed.
(One exception is that a number badge is shown on the updates tab in the iOS app, but this is not discoverable until opening the library.)
The mobile apps should provide a clear way to indicate library updates are available, taking into account the differing menu presentation in the mobile apps.

Allow maps to rotate
Provide an option to swivel the map around rather than having to twist your head off your shoulders! (Originally suggested by Ian Bennell)
FEEDBACK NEEDED: Which maps would this be useful for? Picking geotags, browsing maps or both?

Allow for custom properties on photos
Photo properties currently include GeoTag, Time, and Caption. I would like to be able to add custom properties to each photo (e.g. photo ID, photographer, etc.).

Date range filtering for export screen
In the version 5 full software, it is possible to filter by date range. This doesn't extend to the export screen though, which still has just year/month filters.

Date range filtering for mobile apps
Allow a range of dates, not just year & month, to be selected when filtering in the mobile apps.
It is currently only possible to do this using the version 5 full software.
The same flexibility in terms of: year to year, year-month to year-month and exact date ranges should be available.

Allow easy import from Nature Lister
Nature Lister is an Android app, partnering to Wildlife Recorder.
The Nature Lister format is different to the Wildlife Recorder format, so needs to be handled separately.

Allow Public Browsing
I manage the observations for a local wildlife group / tour operator.
I would like to have a page people can visit to view and search through recent and historical observations.

Entry screen bird list as a grid (preferrably using 4 or 6 letter codes)
When listing I always use the ABA 4-letter species codes. It would be awesome to be able to view birds in a grid based on the codes. So the screen would look something like this:
ABTO ACFL ACWO AKOH ALFL
ALTE ALHU ALOR AMAV AMBI
AMBD AMCO AMCR AMDI AMFL
AMGP AMGO AMOY AMPI AMRE
etc. This would allow you to see way more species on a single screen and would make selecting species by scrolling faster and easier. Anyway, have a grid option combined with adding the ability to view synonym packs (making codes available) in the mobile app…
